The son of two musicians, Michael began studying the violin at age 5 and developed an active interest in the arts as a child. By the time he reached junior high, his love of classical composers fused with a love of alternative rock, much of it rooted by bands from his native Chicago. By age 17, Michael began writing classically-inspired quartets and became proficient on the guitar, drums, and piano.
By 21, Michael's interest in composing escalated after taking one of the first digital audio classes offered at his college. Michael experimented with his own self-taught process of layering instruments one-by-one in software and recorded his first full-length album using off-the-shelf tools in his college apartment.
Four albums later, Michael's unique sound continued to evolve and eventually married 3 major ingredients together that give it a distinct and timeless flavor.
Michael combines classical elements of orchestral flare with the melodic angst of alternative rock, and merges them with his love for cinema and motion picture soundtracks.
"Audience of One" is his most ambitious and personal project in which Michael plays 10 different instruments and records up to 25 unique tracks to deliver a vast and exclusive sound all his own. From Tchaikovsky to Cobain and Elfman, the elements that make up some of music's most celebrated talents can be heard in this personal record, all performed by the abilities of a true-to-life one man band.
